The Institute of Community Directors Australia are hosting the third Festival of Community Directors in 2021 with an all-new training calendar to help your organisation’s board to flourish.

Our Community group managing director Denis Moriarty said the festival will help not-for-profit leaders to refocus on their most important work.

“2020 has been all about survival for so many community organisations. In 2021, it’s time to think about how we can get back on track,” said Mr Moriarty.

“One of the best ways to do this is by joining us for the Festival of Community Directors.”

He said amid the challenges of 2020, more than 8000 board directors had sought professional guidance and training from the Institute in every aspect of not-for-profit leadership, including finance, insurance, cyber-security, fundraising and fraud prevention, to help them weather the storm of the pandemic.

The 2021 program has just been released, and features an extensive line-up of online training and other opportunities to re-engage, refocus and reconnect:

  • More than 20 training webinars, including free events and discounts for ICDA members
  • Expertise from ICDA’s partners across insurance, banking, regulation, good governance, leadership and ethics
  • Timely themes based on the seasonal needs of Australian not-for-profits
  • Courses underpinned by the strategic guidance of the Community Directors Council, ICDA’s advisory body, comprising Australia’s leading not-for-profit thinkers
  • Opportunities to earn a scholarship towards the renowned Diploma of Governance.

Mr Moriarty said the Festival will build on the success of the 2020 program by reaching directors readily online and by targeting their biggest needs.

Festival of Community Directors

A year-long celebration of community governance

“The online nature of the Festival of Community Directors meant that even in 2020, despite being forced to cancel some events, we were able to continue offering the vast majority of the training and resources the community sector so badly wanted and needed.”

“Even as uncertainty lingers globally as we head into 2021, one thing you can bank on is that the Festival of Community Directors will continue, with online training still the focus.”
