Leadership Week, an initiative of the Institute of Community Directors Australia, is a dedicated week of leadership training designed to support and strengthen the capability of the not-for-profit and community sector.

The aim of this event, held 20-23 July 2026 is to provide leaders in the sector with the tools and training they need to become the best leaders they can be.

The theme for Leadership Week 2026 is The tools and skills to lead well, work better, and support your team to thrive.

This four-part series equips leaders with the tools and skills to lead well, work better, and support their teams to thrive. Covering effective execution, the opportunities and risks of AI, and approaches to difficult conversations and talent development, each session focuses on real-world challenges and actionable techniques to improve team performance and leadership impact.

Managing difficult conversations & talent development

Explore how leaders can navigate difficult conversations and support talent growth, including sources of conflict, strategies for positive interactions, and practical ways to use feedback and apprenticeship to help individuals and teams stretch and develop.
